Third instalment in our Podcast series is up on our page. This time it is our good friend DJé Vinyl who has compiled and mixed one. Djé aka Dizze aka Didier was our main record dealer in the beginning days of Onda Sonora. He kept the Doctor Vinyl store in our hometown Halle in those days and I spent entire Saturdays there checking vinyl, drinking beer and talking nonsense. Half my collection comes from his shop. When it closed I felt lost for several months. Still haven't found anything that comes near. The combination of friends gathering, good music galore and a host who knew his trade like no other combined with the antics of a suburban town where nothing ever happens was enough to get me melancholic about it. That shop is why I'll always prefer getting dusty fingers in record shops above pain in them from searching the net.

After the shop closed Didier slowly found a new quest in life. Still digging vinyl like there is no tomorrow, knowing all there is to know about the music he loves. Still a good friend. Almost married, so after almost a decade of telling everyone Onda Sonora Soundsystem would be the dj's at his wedding, we will be able to play one of our most honourable but most difficult sets. Playing for a half African / half hardcore crate diggin' public.

The mix itself is a jazzy one. With some Moodymann thrown in (I learned to appreciate the Detroit House sound from him) and that killer Webster Lewis tune (never realised that it is the same guy as "Welcome Aboard" until today). Deep one.

You will find the cover for this one is here.
